Emergency & Crisis Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2025
This Emergency & Crisis Policy explains how Grow As You Go ("GAYG") operated by Grow As You Go responds to urgent situations.
GAYG is not an emergency service
- If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 in the United States or your local emergency number now.
- For suicidal thoughts, call or text 988 in the U.S., or use crisis lines available in your region.
- GAYG coaches, AI prompts, and moderators cannot provide medical or mental health treatment. We are not a healthcare provider and are not HIPAA-covered.
When to contact us
- Report concerning content or behavior using in-app tools or by following the contact directions in the Questions section.
- Include as much detail as possible (usernames, timestamps, screenshots) so we can act quickly.
- We review urgent flags continuously during operating hours and escalate high-risk reports as needed.
- Outside operating hours, automated systems triage reports and alert on-call staff for imminent harm indicators.
Our response steps
- Assess the report for immediacy and credibility.
- If imminent harm is suspected, attempt to reach the user through available contact methods.
- Contact local emergency services when we have enough information to make a credible report.
- Document actions taken and any communications.
Information we may share
- We may share limited account data (such as name, email, last known IP, or emergency contact info) with emergency responders or law enforcement when we believe someone is at risk of serious harm.
- We only disclose what is necessary to assist responders, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
Community responsibilities
- Encourage peers to seek immediate professional help when crises appear.
- Do not promise confidentiality if someone is in danger; escalate appropriately.
- Follow our Community Guidelines when discussing sensitive topics.
After the incident
- We may suspend accounts temporarily to protect individuals or allow investigations.
- We may offer safety resources and request confirmation that the individual is safe before restoring access.
- Records of crisis interventions are retained securely for compliance and review.
- We evaluate every crisis response to refine training, documentation, and coordination with local partners.
